Earlier this week, the HarperCollins Union, which consists of 250 employees, voted to authorize another strike on November 7th, if they can't agree on a contract. The union has been in negotiations with management since last December and has been without a contract since April. The planned strike will be open-ended. The vote comes at a time when HarperCollins laid off a "small number of positions," according to HC's CEO Brian Murray.
