During the pandemic, the Copyright Office allowed individuals to upload digital copies of their works in advance of sending physical copies. Recently, the Library of Congress has announced that it will make permanent the pandemic-related accommodation. This is great for authors because it allows for quicker approval of copyright registrations. Before this change, the Copyright Office would examine the physical copies of your work. Now the Office will examine the electronic copy before usually waiting to receive the physical copies.
